Hi Friends,
as some of you may know by now, the Scotts were off to a wonderfun snow vacation in Garmisch this week! Just as they were entering the Lodge to get the kids into ski school, Rick slipped on a patch of ice. His ribs hurt afterwards so they went to the ER. Good thing, because after doing some tests they relized he not only broke a rib but his spleen was damaged! Although injured it hadn't ruptured, praise the Lord! To keep it from rupturing, Rick was monitored in the ICU for a couple of days, instructed NOT to move. The docters in Garmisch have been great but the Scotts now have another issue: covering insurance costs. I think we can help them with that! As far as we could gather, it looks like the catastrophic cap per person per year for their insurance is $4000. Considering time in ICU and all the tests and scans they have been doing, they likely reached that after just a day or two.
