<div>My husband Rick was diagnosed with <em>Stage 4 Advanced prostate cancer</em> in February 2024. This has metastasized to his bones and his lymph.

<div>All the signs were missed leading up to that time. He had severe weight loss. He had muscle and bone pain and this was going on for over a year. 
</div>

<div>Each symptom could be explained by something else. We thought his weight loss was related to switching from a desk job to a woodworking role. 
</div>

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He quit his full time job designing data centers in April 2023 and started Carpentry in May 2023 so when this diagnoses came almost a year later in February 2024. 
</div>

<div>The doctors told him he has to stop work immediately, he was warned about lifting anything heavy as his bones would continue to get even more brittle and could result in a severe fracture. 
</div>

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There is no cure, but our hope is to extend life and our wish is for a Miracle! 
</div>

</div>
<div>With not able to work and if this disease was diagnosed prior to April 15, 2024 he would have had full disability benefits from his data design center job. and no benefits. no income to speak of. 
</div>

<div>Rick has started Tri Therapy (an aggressive approach with the goal of extending life). He is having symptoms such as hair loss, mouth ulcers, and pain in his feet and hands. He has to get up 3-4 times in the night and finds it difficult to get quality rest. 
</div>

</div>

<li>Rick has 6 rounds of IV Chemotherapy. (covered by Medicare)
</li>
<li>Pill form of Chemotherapy (Nubeqa) which costs $3,800/month x 6 months = $22,800
</li>
<li>Lupron (an injection) which is considered medical castration which costs $1,400/every 3 months for a total of $5,600
</li>
<li>Total Cost: $28,000 for Chemotherapy
</li>
<li>This list does not include diabetes medication for type 1 diabetes.
</li>
<li>Any money raised will also go towards household expenses during this increased time of financial stress.
</li>
<li>Rick will be finished his chemotherapy by the end of November.
</li>

<div>There is a financial stress that is put on any household affected by cancer. It is a known fact that this can cause great difficulty, and going from double income to one income is a challenge with extra medical expenses on top of that.
