RICK PUTNAM FUNERAL FUND
Donation protected
My uncle, Rick Putnam was hit by a car yesterday and was killed in Millcreek. He has lived in my parents home for years. My dad bought his groceries, cut his hair, bought his clothing and took him in when he had nowhere else to go.
When my uncle was born he went without oxygen for too long causing some handicaps. He had some mental setbacks. He had Asperger's and worked as a dishwasher for the downtown Denny's restaurant for 36 years. His neighborhood can attest to seeing him religiously walking to and from the bus at 6 am no matter the weather! He never complained!
In that 36 years he NEVER missed a day (who does this?) except when some chemicals at work were accidentally spilled on him, causing severe burns. He had a unique routine and never missed a beat. He could repeat any sports/game score from decades back. He was a Utah Jazz and BYU fanatic. Anytime there was a game we could hear him calling the play by play from his recliner. He was able to participate in the special olympics and live out his sports dreams.
People like Rick go straight to Heaven. He was simple man that didn't need much. He was only allowed to work 36 hours a week which meant he was unable to receive health/death benefits. He had very little money and earthly possessions'. I believe people like him are put here to teach us lessons.
Our family's wish is to give him a proper burial. If you are willing or able to help us make this happen we would truly appreciate any monetary amount.
