Rick Hellermann Medical Bill Support

Rick has been in St. Cloud Hospital since 5/2 with Autoimmune Hemoletic Anemia. Basically his body attacks his blood and tries to kill him. For the last week his hemoglobin levels have been hovering right around 4-5 (which is critically low) and the process to get him the correct blood with warm antibodies has proved nearly impossible. BUT God is so faithful. He was able to get 3 blood transfusions on Saturday and his levels have gone up to 9-10 the last two days! It was the best news we could have received on Mother's Day!

That being said, he still has a long road to recovery as he will be needing 3 more doses of Rituxan (the same chemo drug that put him into remission from this same thing 12 years ago) that can only be given once per week. His body was already weak from his emergency back surgery last January as well, so gaining back muscle that was lost being in the hospital so long will take time. He still doesn't have feeling from the waist down so even simple things like walking and going to the bathroom can be difficult.

We are making this GoFundMe page to help take some of the financial stress off of him and Peg as he eagerly waits for the OK to go back to work. He absolutely loves his job selling cars for John Weise Ford, so much so he was working a deal the whole drive to ER and even got a Mustang successfully delivered to North Dakota while struggling for his life in a hospital bed! He's a fighter and we can't wait to have him home again doing what he loves to do.
