The Rick & Patty Freiberg Fund

Our dear friend Rick has very recently developed a fast-progressing set of health issues and accompanying sudden financial difficulties. The former owner of Bits and Bytes in downtown Astoria, lost his long-time business, partly due to the intensely time-consuming care of his ailing wife, who is also struggling with severe health problems. Rick is in the process of trying to get a firm diagnosis, but he is suffering from very quickly deteriorating muscles and nerves, experiencing seizures and great pain. We don't yet know exactly what's wrong yet, although it appears to be some form of spinal infection, creating advanced MS-like symptoms. We set up this fund because their family is in desperate need of aid, to cover at least their rent and car payment. Please consider giving to help our friend. Rick has given innumerable hours of his life, helping folks with alcohol and drug addiction in our community. He has saved many lives.
