Hello friends! This is an appeal to all lovers of Jazz and our local music scene. In July of last year, my dear friend Ed Krout offered to record my big band at his studio as a gift to me before I move to Portland. This generous offer is almost unheard of in the recording industry, if you know anything about what a project like this entails. I am forever grateful to him, his engineers, and the guys in the band for participating in this wonderful recording. To finish this project, I'd like to invite you to a fun music party with a live 10-piece band, food & drinks and a brand new CD to take home with you when you leave. The plan as it stands now is to have this event at the Blue Bamboo Center For The Arts: the newest and most wonderfully appointed jazz venue in Central Florida. The party promises to be a blast!
This campaign's goal is to raise money for the mixing, mastering and duplication of the CD. The band's recording and editing is complete. "In the can" as they say! We just need to get these 16 fabulous tunes mixed, mastered, and onto a beautifully packaged CD! We'd like to complete the project by the end of the year, and so we can have the release around the holidays. What fun would that be?
Depending on the level, if you chip in some bucks you can (A) Get the new CD. (B) Get a new CD and come to the release/party! (C) Get all the above and a mention in the CD liner notes! (D) All the above and get a personal concert in your home! We know some of you may not prefer to donate with your credit card, so we can accept a check if you're so inclined. Contact us for details.
Of the many years that I've played in Central Florida and of the thousands of gigs and the wonderful musicians I've had the pleasure to share the stage with, I'm looking forward to this night like I have no other. I hope all of my oldest and newest friends will be there, and what a night it will be! Please plan on joining us in this celebration and I'd like to thank you in advance for your kind consideration!
