We opened the first after school program specifically designed for kids on the autism spectrum in the state of Virginia, January 6, 2014. We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and we are a 501 (c) (3) not for profit. After two successful summers running Camp Free2BMe, we realized that there was also a tremendous need for an after school program for our cool kids. RAIN After School is a mini version of our summer camp. We have some fabulous middle and high school volunteers to help with RAIN After School. We are so excited to be able to offer this program! We don't ever want to turn anyone away. This is where you can help!

How You Can Help
RAIN has already made an impact on our community. We have learned so much and love our volunteers and families! We need to keep pushing forward so we can serve more children. We need funding for scholarships for some of our campers and funding to meet day to day operational needs. We have never turned anyone away due to lack of funds and hope we never will have to make that choice. We just received our 501 c 3 letter from the IRS the day before Thanksgiving and for that we are truly grateful! Up until now we have had our building rent free but it is time to start paying and we could sure use the help. We would hate to have to start all over again!

RAIN currently has several programs :
~ RAIN Academy, a home school support center for children that are unable to attend the public schools

~RAIN After School

~Camp Free2BMe

Our future goal is to open other recreation centers in different counties where families can have a place within their own community to enjoy and provide a safe place for their children to be who they are and learn with their peers.
Our other goal is to bring our camp to your state!
RAIN has been a project from the heart. The name Richmond Autism Integration Network aka RAIN came from sitting in Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel traffic. I was thinking about my favorite quote, "It's not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the RAIN." Autism is our storm and we am learning to dance. Won't you join us?

Other Ways You Can Help:
