We knew before we married that we wanted to have children and create our very own little family.  Three years ago we decided to begin our family, we didn't know that we would face so many struggles.  For the last three years we have struggled, there have been dr appt after dr appt, tests, procedures, medication after medication, treatment plan after treatment plan and sadly we have not been successful. We found out that Jen suffered from infertility and it has been a road filled with so many  ups and downs.  Today (6-22-17) we met with our Fertility Specialist and have decided to proceed with IVF.  None of this is cheap, some we are incredibly blessed to have insurance cover but some will not be and will have to come out of pocket.  What feels unfair and is heartbreaking is how for some people it can just be as simple as paying for a bottle of wine and a fun night and you find out weeks later you are pregnant. For us it has cost us thousands of dollars, tears, heartache and a roller coaster of emotions and side effects.  Our desire is to have a child of our own and while none of this is fair and it has been incredibly tough and heartwrenching, we have an immense amount of hope still.  We can't do this alone, we need a village. We are humbly asking for your support.  We are asking for your prayers and we are asking for your financial support.  We have hope that God will provide and we trust He will.  IVF costs a lot of money.  After insurance, the total out of pocket is expected to be $8,000 to $9,000.  I (Jen) am blessed with some awesome insurance through work but I am going to be reaching my max lifetime for fertility treatments soon here and it doesn't cover everything.  If nothing else we ask that you cover us with prayer. 

Sharing this is a huge step for us as we have been quiet about this for many years. But the truth is that 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertlity and it is so sad. Sadly it's something so many women and men feel so incredibly alone in.  It can be a truly lonely journey but it doesn't have to be.  We are asking that you join us on our journey and we are asking for your support, love and prayer.
