Hi my name is Janene. I am raising money for my brother-in-law Richard (Richie).
As many of you know, Richie has been battling cancer for nearly six years. After a number of major surgeries, chemo and radiotherapy, we thought all was going well. However, just over a month ago Richie’s cancer returned in an aggressive way.
Richie has just finished four weeks of radiotherapy and tomorrow will commence treatment in Melbourne with a new trial drug called KEYTRUDA. This is an immunotherapy drug that will cost just over $6,000 per treatment every 3 weeks (21days). Treatment will come to a total cost of over $65,000 and is not covered by the PBS, hence they have to self fund the treatment as there is no trial currently available.
I am putting out this appeal for help on behalf of my sister, Carolyn, and my nephews and niece, Harry, Charlie and Emma. We want to help Richie fight this and every contribution can help relieve this huge financial burden on the family when they need it most.
I had to convince them to let me set up this fund raising campaign because they know many of you have supported them in the past in amazing ways.
