Richie's Medical Bills And Recovery

Update: I have had the pleasure to be friends with Richie for over 20 years now and I am pleased to say we all will enjoy a minimum of 20+ more years with him. These funds will go directly to Richie and his family to pay for all medical bills and recovery bills, so our friend can focus on getting stronger. These funds will go into a bank account that will be handled directly by the family and Richie. Please let's show Richie that we want him healthy and stronger and not have the stress of money weighing him down. Please share and give as you are able. ❤❤ On Dec. 22nd Richie went into the ER with what he thought was a fever and being sick. Turns out after testing was completed he found out he had a heart attack. Additional testing showed that he needed either a bypass or stents due to damage to his heart. On Dec. 24th the doctors decided that stents would be the best option for him at his age. And on 26th he went into surgery. What we all thought would be a simple procedure that would get him home by the 28th, turned into his families worst nightmare. Richie's heart stopped. The medical team worked on him and got him through the initial surgery. He was then sent to UCSF, the hospital that saves lives, and placed on life support. Several days, sleepless nights, tears, prayers, surgeries and procedures later, he is still in ICCU. Yet he is recovering. This GoFundMe is to help him and his family cover expenses for his care. Richie Lemos is a great example of a friend and the true spirit of giving. Through his lifetime he has been there for so many, sacrificing sleep, time, energy, money and at times his own goals to ensure those around him are cared for and that they have what they need. He now brings that same spirit as a teacher to his students at Kenilworth. Please let's be that same example and help his family and him not worry about this one thing, while he recovers.
