Richardson Family Fire Recovery

We have created this page to assist a family whose son, "E" attends our college (Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo).  On October 31, as E's younges brother and sister were preparing for Halloween, they lost their home to a fire.  The fire destroyed the home they were renting in Michigan and all the contents within.  They have nothing left.  E's mother suffered smoke inhilation and is hospitalized.  She was already recovering from serious injuries which occured six months ago when she was struck by a drunk driver.  E also has three younger siblings who have been left without a home or belongings:  a 17 year old brother, a 13 year old brother, and a 6 year old sister.  His brothers are currently staying at the hospital with their mother while his youngest sister stays with her grandmother.

We are hoping to raise enough money to get them back into another home before Thanksgiving.  We also wish to help them replace clothing, furniture, and school supplies. E's greatest concern right now is making sure that his younger siblings do not miss school.

We know this young man quite well.  He lost his father last year.  He has encountered more adversity than someone his age ever should.  His primary concern is taking care of his family.  He is the man of the house now.  We want to make sure he can complete his education (he is a senior) knowing that his family is cared for and getting back on their feet.
