To begin with this is as embarrasing as hell to have to set this up but I am at wits end. I am an over the road truckdriver. On August 28th I got out of my truck to do a pretrip inspection. I took about 6 steps and then lost all equilibrium and fell. I was taken to the hospital where initially they thought I had a stroke. After 26 hours I was released from the hospital where they had determined that I had not had a stroke but suspected it was vertigo. Because of my inability to maintain my balance I am not allowed to drive a truck. Therefore I have had no income since August 28th. I have followed up with my primary care physician and with an ENT specialist. Positional vertigo and meneires disease have been ruled out and the latest diagnosis is ataxia. I am seeing a neurologist on Tuesday the 10th to determine cause and possible treatment. In the meantime my wife and I have enough money to survive this month and that is it. We do not have mortgage or lot rent for next month or the money for my health insurance premium which is due on the 28th of this month. I have applied for disability but it is a long drawn out process and will take some time. Even though I was on the job when this happened the incident itself was not job related therefore I have been denied workers compensation. I apologize for putting this out here like this but I need to make sure I am doing all that I can not only as a responsibility to myself but also to my wife who is under an inordinate amount of stress right now' Thank you for your time and consideration'
