On Christmas Eve, I went to the ER at Lutheran General Hospital with chills, fever and back pain. I was originally diagnosed with a UTI and kidney infection. But blood tests soon showed that the infection had entered my bloodstream and I was placed on IV antibiotics.
I now have a PICC Line and I am permanently connected to a device that administers IV antibiotics every 4 hours. This will have to continue for 6 weeks.
The antibiotics and the administration device run about $640.00 a week after Medicare pays their part. This is much more than I can afford on my retirement income.
So I am using this GoFundMe to ask for help with these health care costs.
