As many of you know, Micah and Olivia have been on a journey to grow their family for quite some time. For as long as they can remember they have wanted to be parents; Olivia mothering any baby she could get her hands on, and Micah knowing since he was 16 years old that he wanted to adopt at least one of his children. When he and Olivia met, growing their future family through both adoption and pregnancy was one of their first converstions, and they were both enthusiastically on board. However, like most journeys, theirs has not gone as expected.
Three years ago, they excitedly prepared for their first child after learning Olivia was pregnant. At their first sonogram appointment they were met with the devastating news that the baby had stopped growing and that a miscarriage was imminent. They were hopeful for another positive pregnancy test, but it never came. However, their desire to be parents did not cease, and their passion for adoption continued to grow.
Love, excitement, and pure joy were emotions we all felt upon reading their recent announcement of their newest and best journey yet - The Rices are Adopting!
Within 7 short days after sharing their story, Micah and Olivia received a call about an expectant mother in California, already well into her second trimester, due in March!
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD?!
With just a few months to prepare, wheels are already in motion to help support these two in bringing their sweet bundle of joy “home”.
Feeling lead as you may, here is a list of time sensitive costs heading the Rice's way sooner than expected:
•Texas and California attorney and legal fees
•Adoption Agency Fees
•Travel costs from Texas to California.
(This trip will be made twice between now and the time the baby is born.)
•Up to a two week stay in California after the baby is born before returning to Texas.
•Unexpected medical costs
•Home Study
