Ric & Christie Lumbard Relief Fund

As you may have heard Ric Lumbard suffered a massive heart attack while at work in Des Moines on Tuesday, July 11th. He was rushed to the hospital where he underwent extensive life saving measures, including surgery to insert multiple stints. While Ric has yet to regain full consciousness, follow commands or breath on his own we are hopeful and trusting in the Lord for Ric’s complete healing.

For those of you who may not know Ric personally his wife, Christie, wrote a touching note about what he means to the many, and the few he’s come in contact with:

“To thousands he is a man of God, a pastor, a teacher, a mentor, an encourager, a man of wisdom and speaker of truth. To many more he is a leader and friend. To some he is family who love him dearly. To a few, my beautiful children, he is a Father and Dad. He is all those things to me and much more but to me, my husband, I have the distinct honor and privilege of being your wife going on 31 years and your friend since my childhood. Thank you for fighting baby. I'm here and will be here, laughing and holding you soon.”

Ric has committed his life to building the Kingdom globally, being a voice to the voiceless, and has come alongside so many to help them walk in freedom. In that role there are many day-to-day items that he has put on himself to take care of. Now as the family is trying to step in to help coordinate the paying of bills and financial responsibilities there are some immediate needs that we would like to see taken off of Christie’s plate so she can focus on Ric’s healing. Ric has touched and blessed so many people over the years, we would like to return the favor in his family’s time of need.
It is clear that Ric has a long road to recovery, and that includes an extended stay at the hospital. This stay will create extra financial pressure for the family as they travel in from various parts of the country to be with him and Christie. Many family members have taken time off work, and plan to continue to take time off to help in his slow up hill battle. The desire of this campaign is to take some of that pressure off of the family and bless them.

Please partner with us in prayer as we continue to pray for complete healing in Ric’s body, and peace over the family as they walk through this tough time. We would appreciate you partnering with us in blessing Christie as she is by Ric’s side at the hospital, and has family traveling in to help.

Christie put it so well in wrapping up her Facebook message today when she said, “Thank you to all who have been praying, please keep it up! But most of all, thank you to my precious Heavenly Father who promises to never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for hearing all of our prayers as we lift up your precious son Richard before you and responding to our cries before you. I know you love him, thank you for letting us experience more of this fantastic, amazing man of God in the days to come.”

You can continue to follow updates on Ric’s condition here or on https://www.facebook.com/WFMMissionsBaseUSA, and give if you are able.

Thank you and God bless.
