Riata Jean's Miracle Journey

Donation protected

Rachael and Kyle have been happily married for five years and earlier this year recieved the joyous news that they would be expanding their little family by two tiny feet.  As excited yet terrified as new parents should be, they began preparing for their bundle of joy. About half way through Rachael's pregnancy, doctors noticed that she would be unable to carry to full term and performed an emergency cerclage to keep that baby cooking. However, this procedure only bought the young family days more. After being admitted to the hospital for several days, Riata Jean Donnelly was born on October 29th at 9:35 pm in at just 23 weeks 5 days gestation. Weighing a whole 1 lb 5 oz. this little girl has no idea what a long journey she has ahead. "Micro-preemies" are babies born prior to 26 weeks gestation and weigh less than 1 lb 12 oz. Statistically, Riata would only have a 50-66% chance of survival and would face numerous obstacles regarding her health.  It is predicted that this little cowgirl will remain in the NICU for atleast 4 more months, that is a big hospital bill.  I am happy to report, that she is now 18 days old or what would be just over 26 weeks gestation and she does continue to improve. However, as happy as this news is, Rachael and Kyle have an enormous weight on their shoulders while handling the emotional load of having a NICU baby, they also face the fact that this comes with quite the hospital bill, along with other monthly bills acquired. The hospital Riata is at, is 45 minutes away from their home which is quite the commute. I have started this campaign with hopes to aide this young family in this tough time with help with medical bills, fuel, food and to provide Riata with the best start in life she could possibly have.  With her making her appearance so early and unexpectedly, Rachael and Kyle did not get the chance to have a baby shower or much less prepare for a tiny human. This campaign would also be immensly helpful with purchasing diapers, clothing, bedding along with all other baby needs. This family is one of the most deserving and god loving I have had the pleasure to love and grow with. This little girl has such a long road ahead and all hopes and prayers will be much appreciated along with any donations possible. God bless.

Riata Jean, auntie loves you so much and cannot wait for the world to see your beautiful self. <3 Keep fighting baby girl!
