Rían The Warrior

Rían Murray is my little nephew and he is 19 months old. Rían was born with Down Syndrome but that didn’t stop him from doing his best at everything and living his best life, always smiling, always in good form. 

Rían spent lots of time in hospital throughout his first 18 months due to chest problems but nothing prepared us for the devastating news his parents, Jenny and Gerry received on Monday February 3rd. Rían was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) and like many children before him, he was admitted straight away to St. John’s ward Crumlin.

So far Rían has completed his first round of Chemotherapy, including his spinal chemo. His immune system is very low and he has spent most of his time in hospital trying to recover form the effects of his first Chemotherapy session and is shortly due to start his second.

Therefore, we have set up this Go Fund Me page to help ease the financial worries associated with looking after a sick little boy, this includes, lots of travel, lots of time in hospital, time off work and other additional expenses. Jenny and Gerry have both had to leave their jobs to look after Rían.  

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and all funds received will go directly to Rían and his family.
