Rhonda's Stem Cell Recovery Fund.

Donation protected
For the last four years Rhonda has been fighting a battle with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy, but last winter it became apparent that it wasn't having the effect her doctors had hoped it would. She had already had her allowable limit of chemo as well.  The doctors then recommended a stem cell transplant- without it she was given two years. The first challenge was finding a match- fortunately it turned out that her brother was a perfect donor for her.  The stem cell transplant was done in June, and Rhonda is now in the recovery phase, though it's an uphill battle, as stem cell transplants come with their own variety of  very serious risks.

Rhonda will have to be in hospital until at least late September and has been off work for some time now, and will have to stay off work through a very long recovery. Her partner has been laid off and so funds are very tight. This fund is to help them out with a variety of things- to help her partner afford the travel to see her, to help Rhonda with the costs of accomodation in Vancouver once she is no longer in the hospital but still has to live near it as the doctors monitor her continued recovery.  Rhonda is not the sort to ever ask for help, but she's always happy to give help to others. So because she won't ask, I will ask on her behalf.

Any little bit will help and be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
