Rhondas Fight Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected

My mom (Rhonda) saw her doctor regarding what she figured was a blocked milk duct on June 22nd, 2017. She was then sent to Cranbrook for a Mammogram and Ultrasound and to follow-up with a surgeon on August 3rd, 2017. After the Ultrasound, she was informed that there was most definately a mass and she would need a Biopsy the same day. She was then told that it was most likely breast cancer.

Since August 3rd (unfortunately, the day after her birthday) she has spent many hours driving back and forth to Cranbrook for various tests and procedures. Such as MRI's, bone scans, more biopsy's, and CT scans. With the results from all of these tests combined, she has been diagnosed with stage 3 her2 positive Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Which is one of the rarest, most aggressive, and fast-spreading forms of breast cancer.

In order to fight through this cancer battle, my mom (Rhonda) is having to undergo 8 treatments of Chemotherapy in Cranbrook, BC., and if all goes well with that she will need surgery to remove both of her breasts. Once healed, Radiation treatments in Kelowna will begin. She will have to continute one of her Chemotherapy prescription drugs for 1 year due to the type of Cancer.

For anyone who knows my mom, you know that she is one of the most kind, caring, and selfless people on the earth. For those who don't know her, if you asked around this would be the answer you would recieve. She has never asked for help from anyone, and due to her not being able to work during this fight, I am standing up for her and asking for this support. My mom is my whole world, along with many others, and any donation is greatly appreciated by all family/friends involved.

The funds we raise here will go towards the various trips that she will have to make, as well as things that are not covered by medical (which you would be surprised is a lot) such as any anti-nausea drugs and/or analgesics. Due to what the Chemotherapy will do to her body, she will not be able to work at all for atleast a year causing other financial burdens and stresses. Cancer thrives on stress.

My mom (Rhonda) is a fighter and has been her whole life. Everything that is thrown at her, she has a way of shifting her mindset to see the positive in every situation. With that being said, this is Cancer. If you want to help in any other way, it would be to make her feel normal. Instead of asking her 'how are you feeling today?' say 'hey what's up?' ask her to lunch, or to hangout, come sit with her and talk with her about normal things. If she wants to talk about her fight against Cancer, she will.

Thank you to anyone reading this sending love and positive thoughts for anyone else going through a struggle.
Any and all support is so greatly appreciated and will be put to good use. ❤
