My dear friend Rhonda and her husband Ron were impacted like millions of others by Hurricane Irma. Their home sustained major damage. It is important for them to restore their lives back to normal. Regretfully, they do not have insurance on their home because of the cost of coverage. They cannot fix the damage on their own since times are tough for them overall.
It is only a matter of time before it gets worse and worse and the expenses mount (or the home deteriorates beyond repair) Time is of the essence. The roof is a mess, they need to rip up and replace the floors, the ceiling is falling in, mold is already evident, and structural damage makes it unsafe.
Through this all, Rhonda is taking the time to provide some TLC for her neighbors, care for her family, and assist those helping to restore some order to her community.
Rhonda has been my friend for 40 years. There are very few things I know for sure in this world, but I know for sure that Rhonda is a beautiful person and a survivor. Both Rhonda and Ron have overcome many personal obstacles on their own. But now they need us to help them get past this. The first thing Rhonda said to me when I told her about this fundraising campaign is that she feels uncomfortable taking and would much rather be giving.
I want to be there for them. If you do too, any amount helps. It all adds up and will help to make the immediate repairs. If you are able to contribute, thank you so much.
