Rhett's 3rd Heart Surgery

Donation protected
My sweet friends, Nick and Kathleen Hopper welcomed Rhett William Hopper on July 30, 2015. Rhett was diagnosed prior to being born with a very rare and complex congenital single ventricle defect with no known cause or prevention, so rare that Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts was Rhett's only option for surgery. This particular heart defect is not easily treated and requires a series of three open heart surgeries within the first three years of his life as well as life-long monitoring. Nick and Kathleen traveled to Boston to have Rhett at Boston’s Children’s Hospital where he could be closely monitored by a team of pediatric cardiologists. Rhett underwent his first surgery at just week old in August 2015 and then traveled back to Boston for a second surgery at four months old in December 2015. On August 11, 2017 he will receive his third surgery once again in Boston where the family will be staying for around 4 weeks before they can return home. Both of his parents will be missing a lot of work in order to care for their son during this time. With some financial assistance I am hoping to relieve the stress of everyday life that will continue while they are away from their jobs as well as the tremendous expense of Rhett’s medical care and travel expenses. Any type of donation would be a significant help and is greatly appreciated by Nick and Kathleen. Please keep this precious family in your thoughts and prayers during this next phase of Rhett’s life.
