Rheed's Battle with Bone Cancer

Hello, my name is Cylma von Etzdorf, and I live and work in St. Augustine, Florida.
This is my appeal for funds to help my much loved young Grandson, Rheed Castle-Pearce, who has been diagnosed with cancer and as a result thereof has to have a prosthetic hip replacement .Rheed unfortunately still lives in SA where my son Vynce and his family have been waiting 9 years in a 12 year USA immigration queue.Both Rheed's parents are unemployed and have no medical insurance.
Recently, his young life took a frightening turn when he fell at school, fractured his hip, and was in terrible pain. He was admitted to hospital, where many tests and procedures later, his shocked and grief stricken parents were given the results. Rheed has bone cancer, Osteo Sarcoma, a malignancy in his pelvis and head of his femur. Nothing can prepare parents and family for news like this, but Rheed is an amazing little fighter, with such spirit for life.
Rheed spent six weeks lying in traction to try and repair his broken hip, which has somewhat healed despite the deterioration to the bone. He had to endure another painful biopsy and many more tests and scans to confirm the bone cancer diagnosis and monitor the size of the tumour.
Rheed has just had his first of many agressive chemotherapy treatments which will be followed by surgery to remove the affected bone and a prosthetic hip replacement.
Rheed is an incredible sportsman, and has achieved many accolades and much recognition in his short life, just a few being captain of rugby, an impressive member of his school swimming team, opening bowler for his cricket team, and sprinter and cross country running. His sporting achievements and leadership qualities culminated in his appointment as Head of House in grade 7 ... meaning he was captain of one of four sporting divisons in his school.
The funding will be used towards obtaining the best possible prosthetic hip and family support.
