I have been living in Germany for almost 10 years, a country that has provided my family and me with safety and opportunities. Today, I am reaching out to ask for your help for my family, who are suffering from the consequences of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

<div>The Gaza Strip, a place I call home, where I experienced the first 30 days of the current conflict, has witnessed unimaginable suffering in recent weeks. Despite my experiences during these first days, I can hardly comprehend how the situation has worsened since then.

<div>My family, consisting of my father Hamed (50 years old), my mother Elham (50 years old), my brother Osama (25 years old) and his wife Eman, my younger brother Wassem (18 years old), and my youngest sibling Zain (12 years old), has almost lost everything. Our apartment was partially destroyed and is now uninhabitable, my father's store was completely destroyed, and the building where my brother lived is now uninhabitable. They are now living on the street in a tent, a situation that is unbearable for anyone.

<div>My family has only now decided to leave because until recently, they still hoped that the war would end. However, the situation has drastically worsened, they have barely anything to eat, and what is left is more than ten times as expensive as before.

<div>The German Foreign Office and the embassies in Ramallah and Cairo helped us (me, my wife, and my son) to leave the Gaza Strip, but could or would not do anything for the rest of my family. Therefore, I am starting this campaign with the goal of raising €53,000. $6,000 per person is needed for the departure (including $5,000 to the "Hala Company" and $1,000 for registration), plus an additional $3,000 for travel expenses, hoping to bring them to Germany. The difference is intended for GoFundMe fees and the remaining currency/transfer fees.

Trotz meiner Erfahrungen während dieser ersten Tage kann ich kaum fassen, wie sich die Situation seither verschlimmert hat.

<div>Meine Familie hat sich erst jetzt für die Ausreise entschieden, da sie bis vor kurzem noch die Hoffnung hatten, dass der Krieg zu Ende gehen könnte. Aber die Situation hat sich radikal verschlimmert, sie haben kaum etwas zu essen, und was übriggeblieben ist, ist mehr als zehnmal so teuer wie vorher.

<div>Das Auswärtige Amt sowie die deutschen Botschaften in Ramallah und Kairo haben uns (mir, meiner Frau und meinem Sohn) bei der Ausreise aus dem Gaza-Streifen geholfen, konnten oder wollten jedoch nichts für den Rest meiner Familie unternehmen. Deshalb starte ich diese Kampagne mit dem Ziel, 53.000€ zu sammeln. Für die Ausreise werden 6.000$ pro Person benötigt (5.000$ an die "Hala Company" und 1.000$ für die Eintragung), zuzüglich 3.000$ für Reisekosten, in der Hoffnung, sie bis nach Deutschland zu bringen. Der Unterschied ist für die GoFundMe-Gebühren und die restlichen Währungs-/Überweisungsgebühren vorgesehen.
