On the 28th of June, George’s life changed forever. He was the victim of an unprovoked attack from behind, leaving him with devastating injuries. The following day, George became seriously unwell when sickness went into his lungs he fought for his life, and doctors feared he wouldn’t survive. They now call him a miracle.

Since then, George has remained in the spinal ward, where we’ve learned the heartbreaking news that he will never walk again and has very limited movement in his hands. Despite this, George has shown incredible strength and determination. What he wants most now is to come home and be surrounded by his family who have never left his side since June.

To make this possible, major adaptations are needed to his daughter’s home . This includes turning part of the kitchen into a bedroom, widening doorways, and adapting the downstairs bathroom to meet George’s needs. The entire framework of the house must be resized to allow wheelchair access. The only help offered so far is for a wet room,

Leaving the family a few weeks to have all the work finished to get him home as soon as possible.

George will never regain the life he once had, but what he wants most is the comfort of being at home rather than in hospital or a care facility. Any donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to making this possible for him.
