Reward for Information - Alan Rosendale Assault

On May 5, 1989, Alan Rosendale (left of photo) was savagely attacked on South Dowling Street, Surry Hills in Sydney. Paul Simes (right) witnessed the attack and reported to police the number plate of the car the assailants got out of and then fled in. Those men were never found and interviewed by NSW Police.
Not long after the attack, high level police officers revealed that the number plate reported by Paul Simes was that of an unmarked police car, being used at the time by an undercover 'hoodlum squad' whose job it was to seek out crime and deal with it.
Some believe, due to Paul's eye witness report, that this 'hoodlum squad' did indeed commit the attack on Alan Rosendale. Others believe the police line that came soon after - that Paul got everything confused and saw instead the 'hoodlum squad' getting into the car after an unrelated chase that just happened to be nearby the attack on Alan Rosendale.
Either way, NSW Police never tracked down and interviewed the men who were in that car on the night of May 5, 1989, to find out. If they did not commit the attack, they were nearby and may have seen something. If they did commit the attack they need to be brought to justice.
We are raising money to offer as a reward to anyone coming forward with information that leads to an arrest. If you know ANYONE who worked the beat as an officer in uniform or undercover in the late 1980's, but specifically in May of 1989, please talk to them about this case. Any piece of information may help us come closer to bringing justice to the perpetrators, and to bringing closure for both Alan & Paul.
