Revolutionising social care

We are working alongside Leeds City Council in a project the first of its kind in Leeds to create a bespoke care provider; hence the creation of Mae and Mitchell, a nonprofit company. The individuals to support have been identified by Leeds City Council and are extremely vulnerable with diagnoses such as learning disabilities, autism and mental health- they often revolve in and out of the community as services continue to let them down by not being able to provide the most effective support suitable for them, leaving them locked in secure and restrictive hospitals. We aim to take them out of these institutions and provide them with their own homes in the general community of Leeds where they can be supported by us to give them a good quality of life. These adults have traumatic pasts in being let down, and our organisation is now there to stick to them like glue, through thick and thin. This is a 2 year pilot project which is innovative and will provide a much needed resource for vulnerable adults who are falling through the nets of support, particularly now considering what is happening in the world.
