Revive the Sheridan Market

The Sheridan Market & Roadhouse: What is that?
Our vision is to preserve the historic Sheridan Market building and adjacent structures while operating a small retail/café business; providing a community space for Lake Forest Park and the region to enjoy.

What your support means:
- Saving a historic landmark from development.
- Filling a void in the community & neighborhood.
- Supporting a family dream & local business.

Our Story & Current Situation:

We are a husband and wife team that want to bring back a slice of 'times gone by' where you can get a good cup of coffee, a slice of pie, buy an interesting trinket, or just hang out.

Our timing is obviously not perfect with current events, as many cherished businesses are closing and people are hurting in so many ways. Our local vibrant economy has ground to a halt, even though it was at break-neck speed just moments ago.

We want to be able to give by two-fold when we open, and every person contributing will be acknowledged on our tree of supporters (with perks!).

Just the Beginning:
We have used our life savings to buy the Market and to refurbish the attached apartments up to current living standards. We are asking for community support to generate the funds necessary to obtain the proper permits, complete renovations, and get the property open for business. The store cannot open without the City mandated improvements, even though there are minimal changes to the inside structure. We have expended all of our personal resources for this.

Where we Need Help:
The Market building needs to be remodeled to City of Lake Forest Park requirements which entails; the replacement of old & unsafe electrical systems, a new fire alarm system, restroom upgrades, new HVAC, lighting, flooring surface, and most importantly all related public safety items must be addressed and brought up to code. If it is at all possible, a new roof is also on the list. We cannot open for business unless these requirements are met.

Can't donate cash?
As a small business entity with a big dream, we DO need funds to keep going, but we realize that this is a hard ask. The video states our original ask of $50,000, but we realize these are unprecedented times. Of course we want to accept funds, and what we feel is fair is to ask for building materials that may be left over on a job or commercial project, or a super good deal on a purchase. This will go a long way to get us where we need to be. These are the items needed, and that we can come pick up, even if quantities are partial (within a reasonable distance):
