Freedom Has Found Me

Hello family! I am honored deeply that you are reading my letter. It is my sincerest hope in Jesus Christ that you find this letter engaging and may it marinate you with understanding as to whom I am, what God has and continues to do in my life, and what God has called me to do.

I grew up in a Christian home and attended church regularly. I remember reading the Bible a few times and even had bible study with my youngest brother and younger sister (seven of us total.) However, I was not connected with the Father. When I graduated high school, I went on a downward spiral. I started to drink and drive, did some drugs, went to clubs now and then, while feeling deeply depressed. I went to church a few times, lifting up my hands to an internal chorus of empty hallelujahs. During this time, I wanted so bad to end my life. And then…

On February seventh 2011, freedom found me. After reading, ‘Is That Really You God?’ I felt this deep tugging crashing onto the shores of my heart. I went down on my knees and repented and cried for my rebellion. No longer was I a prisoner, no longer was I dead. Jesus Christ changed everything for me.

Freedom led me to join YWAM (Youth With A Mission). And so, I did my DTS (Disciple Training School) in Kona Hawaii in 2012. It was during this time that a veracious fire was lit. My journey continued with SBS (School of Biblical Studies) in YWAM Taiwan in 2013. This rigorous nine month Bible course built further what DTS established. SBS made me hungry and thirsty for the presence of Yeshua through his Word. The Bible went from black and white to color. Essentially, I’ve tasted and seen, and the Lord is indeed good!

The journey continued on with me being a missionary revivalist. I stayed with YWAM and went back to Kona in 2014. The first three months of that year was servant leadership training. Morphing into my first staffing experience, by way of April Awaken DTS. The fire God gave me during my DTS, the hunger from my SBS, coupled with getting lowly during leadership training, made for an amazing staffing experience.

The Father gave me a heart for all my students, especially the team I co-lead to Turkey. Turkey was incredible. Myself along with five other hungry lovers of God, built relationship with the Turkish people, chased after God, and grew in community with each other. This time was such a beautiful time I will cherish deeply.

Moving on, Freedom was not done with me yet. During March of last year, God told me to do SOFM (School of Frontier Missions) in Taiwan. I joyfully obeyed and completed this amazing three month school. SOFM equipped me for the long haul. Meaning, God has placed a call on my life to be a Frontier Missionary or in other words a Church Planter.

I learned so much from this school and deeply grateful God let me come. I was able to re connect with friends from 2013 while gaining insight about the Call on my life. This Call, I will explain further.

Freedom is leading me back to Northern India. I ventured to this place during my DTS outreach in 2012. This beautiful place is filled with the Tibetans. And it is to these people, that Freedom wants me to minister with my life.

How so? The Dalai Lama is the political/spiritual figurehead of Tibetans. God wants me to build relationship amongst this dispersed community, and see these beautiful people profess the name of God. This is the vision. This is the goal. Is it gregarious? Yes. Is it daunting? Sure. Is it possible? With Jesus Christ, it is more than possible.

I must add that the Tibetan people are a displaced community. They reside in India, Nepal, Canada, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the United States. They primarily reside in India, where God is calling me.

These wonderful people love literature, are deeply religious, and committed to a Tibet free from Chinese occupation.

My family, this is the people group God is calling me. He is calling me to India, to Dharamshala, the main hub for Tibetan Buddhism.

All the training I have received is gearing me towards this path God has me on.

God still has asked of me for more training for 2015. He has called me back to Kona YWAM for further training as a staff of two bible schools (DBS April-June & September-December), with a two-month scouting mission (July-End of August) to Dharamshala during the summer. And so, it is my deepest hope to move to India by 2017. Freedom has promised me a community, which would be one explanation of more training. Meaning, seeing others catch the vision God has so graciously shared with me.

All in all, I am once again honored for you my family. Honored because you have read this letter. Freedom has found me; let us both see this same Freedom find the Tibetans.

Best Regards,

Steven Paz

P.S.

Below are ways for partnership and a breakdown of cost. Pray and consider with either one time donations and/or long term partnering. As it stands, for this year 2015, I will need $9130. Since I will be a lifelong missionary, it is my deepest hope to have monthly support of $1000 this year and beyond. This number can fluctuate as to what God provides through all of you. In the Bible Moses needed the help of Aaron and Hur in battle. If he let his arms down, the people of Israel would lose. But, with help the people won. So, I need help. I cannot be a missionary alone. I need people to come around me with support both prayer and financial. Aaron and Hur helped Moses and thereby lived to see another day. Basically, Aaron and Hur received the reward along with Moses because they helped. Really consider becoming an Aaron and Hur with me in ministry. By doing so, I will send updates by personally emailing each and every one of you. Though you will not be with me in person, you share in the reward of seeing God at work by your partnership. For more questions, send me your email.
