Surgery for Future Youngblood Baby & Health
Banjo and Kamo Youngblood here, saving up for a surgery in North Carolina with the best doctor in his field. I, Kaitlyn "Kamo, Kat, Kati" Youngblood, spent my entire life thinking that I would not want to reproduce. I felt and knew that if and when the time came that I was meant to be a mother, a child already born would come into my life that needed me and at that point, I would likely take the opportunity to adopt.
In 2017, I came to the conclusion that I would do the Essure procedure. Bayer sold these coils that get inserted into the fallopian tubes that eventually scar over to cause a permanent blockage. It was a less invasive option to "tying the tubes" and was minimally invasive and deemed to have minimal risk. A year after my procedure, Bayer recalled the product due to women having so many issues from them. 
For the last three years, I have been in a lot of pain. The coils cause a lot of different issues from severe cramping and shooting pain down my legs to my feet, as well as emotional issues, similar to those of which I felt when I was on birth control; are these my own emotions/natural physical ailments or are they my body's chemical/physical response to what is unnaturally inside of me? The pain is daily and I am often unable to do physical labor. I fear my issues will continue to grow if I do not do something about it. More often than not doctors have misdiagnosed the many side effects women are having for something other than Essure and their responses or prescrip tions have caused further issues. 
A lady in a Facebook group called Essure Problems put it perfectly, "I just want to feel whole again." This Facebook group was started by an amazing lady named Angie who suffers greatly from the device, even years after its removal. She was featured on the Netflix documentary The Cutting Edge, where they primarily discussed horror stories of new medical devices and Essure was their #1 target. I implore you to watch it to better educate yourself on how the FDA approved this, and many other, devices with zero testing and a committee that literally laughed at the prospect of future patients having issues. This terrible device doesn't get nearly enough coverage for what so many women have to go through. I am just one of the tens of thousands.

At the time, I felt my decision to take away my fertility was my own and that I would never change my mind. I felt that I would never feel strong enough in myself or supported in a relationship enough to carry the weight of bringing a child into this world. I felt this way until about 24 hours after meeting Banjo and Jethro, that magical day in August of 2019. Upon meeting them, I immediately felt overwhelmingly comfortable and the sense of relief and safety had easily nestled itself snuggly into the core of my gut.
54 days after meeting, we were holding each other in the darkness, I was fighting my urge to blurt out the fact that I wanted to have his babies, just as he asked me if I would be his bride. Since that day, a little over a year ago, I have been wanting this reversal surgery to allow our little family the opportunity to grow.
Removal is free with insurance, but it does not leave any option for future babies, other than a rather expensive In Vitro Fertilization option that has lower chances with less future opportunity.
Dr. Charles Monteith out of Raleigh, North Carolina had performed over 15,000 reversals on women around the country. His team essentially created the surgery and families are sharing their success stories daily on a Facebook group called Planned Pregnancy After Essure, posting pictures of their "miracle" babies and telling stories of their full recoveries and lack of pain, post reversal. I want to live this life to the fullest extent and this surgery will ensure that.

He is very ready for a little sister or brother and I'm not going to lie, Banjo and I already have names picked out.
