Dan and I have been hosting these two children in our home because their mom was evicted after having her apartment building condemned. She is 27 and has 2 other children, 7 and 9 who are living with their grandma.
She has been approved for Section 8 housing which will pay 100% of her rent. She has found a townhouse in her kid’s school district, but needs an $1100 security deposit before she can move in. She is currently working 4 hours a day making $10 an hour as a janitor. Saving up that much money is very difficult for her. Can you help us gather the money for the security deposit? She lives near Grand and Chippewa and would love a better job too.
The only things she took from her apartment were a kitchen table and chairs as well as 2 dressers. Several friends have generously donated a couch, a full size mattress and box springs and a twin mattress. We may also be getting a twin bed with custom bedding. If anyone has another twin bed or a bed frame for the full size bed, that would be fantastic! Others have also come along side us and offered pillows and blankets as well as household items. I know she will be overwhelmed with the love everyone is showing her during one of the most difficult times in her life.
Her kids are truly precious and they want to be back with their mom. Any help you can give will be sincerely appreciated. ❤️
