Eddye Valenzuela (Mr. V) passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. The Salt Lake City School District has lost a warm heart, gentle soul, and passionate educator.
Eddye worked with students at Glendale Middle School and most recently, West High School. He continued to support students and families at school and in the community during this pandemic.
Eddye touched the lives of many students and their families. Eddye strived to help students reach their full academic potential through tutoring and mentoring. His work as a translator helped build bridges from the school to the community.
Eddye's family is in Peru and his remains will be sent home. We are also sending personal belongings, including his mother's ashes. Eddye has no siblings, spouse, or children so we are seeking assistance to help fulfill his final wishes. Eddye would send money to his family every month, so any extra money collected will be donated to the family.
