Returning Citizen Job Training

Donation protected
For more than 20 years I have worked with people recovering from substance abuse, experiencing homelessness, first-time criminal offenders, and employment issues. After much prayer I have been led to begin a new venture that utilizes all of the skills I have developed these past two decades. I need your help to help others change their lives.

Returning Citizens (those returning to society after incarceration) often have a hard time readjusting into society. They are faced with great barriers that can leave them with a sense of hopelessness and isolation. One barrier is securing employment upon their return to the community. Studies conducted on recidivism have found that less than half of people released from prison had secured a job once returning home. The tendency of returning citizens reoffending goes down significantly when they are gainfully employed.

I am the Executive Director of 3 Essentials Inc., a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization, and we have developed a workforce development program dedicated to connecting previously incarcerated individuals to training, recovery programs, and jobs upon their return to the community. Our primary focus is on personal and professional enrichment while connecting participants with living wage job opportunities. The program is designed to meet participants where they are on the spectrum of continuum of services. During the first phase, all participants are required to complete leadership, work readiness, and life skills trainings prior to moving on to the second phase, which enhances their skills through on-the-job training and/or higher education opportunities.

Our mission is to make sure that all individuals with criminal backgrounds have access to employment and career pathway solutions.

That’s why we need your help. Your tax-deductible donation can help change the life of an individual and give them the opportunity to provide for themselves and their family. If you want to “Adopt-A-Returning Citizen” below is the breakdown of the cost to service them:

A donation of $55 covers the costs of one participant for one day in the program.

A donation of $275 covers the costs of one participant for one month in the program.

A donation of $1100 covers the costs of one participant for the entire program. That’s one life changed, entirely because of you!

We have employers waiting to hire people who successfully complete the program. Now we need your help. Any gift amount will help give an individual hope and a new lease on life.

Thank you in advance for helping us work toward changing the lives of people one cohort at a time.
