Retreat to Recovery is a nonprofit organization focused on helping addicts and alcoholics recover from substance abuse disorder(s) and dependence.
We’re raising funds to further develop the addiction treatment facility based in Charleston, SC. The residential program is set to detox, house, treat, counsel, educate and employ former addicts & alcoholics seeking recovery from substance abuse disorder(s).
One unique aspect of our facility’s location is that lodging, meetings and group treatments take place in treehouses, many connected by cable-bridges. These aren’t the typical backyard treehouses we had as a kid. These treehouses are elaborate constructions that mimic the tiny-home movement across America, except some reach 30-40 feet from the ground. So getting high takes on a new meaning at Retreat to Recovery.
My own funding can only stretch to a certain point. So I’m reaching out to others in hopes of giving this project wings. As a nonprofit organization, your charitable contributions are tax deductible.
All charitable contributions go towards securing suitable real estate, housing constructions, utility installations & basic necessities for residents- food, water, toiletries, electricity and transportation. This is not a typical posh drug rehabilitation facility. As a nonprofit organization, it’s all about purpose, not profit. We are literally living off the land, free from tech distractions and modern conveniences which we often take for granted. We believe it’s important for each individual in recovery to remain focused on their mental, physical and emotional health and well-being while rediscovering reality. Our treatment curriculum expands every day to reach the wide variety of socioeconomic classes and lifestyles struggling with substance abuse and dependence, in order to counsel, condition and care for each resident. Guiding each toward a sustainable path for a positive and productive future.
The reality of discovering reality can be a daunting experience after years of isolating in the depression of addiction/alcoholism.
Retreat to Recovery is here to make this transition as positive, educational and exciting as the recovering participant will allow. Our treatment providers seek the root of what caused addiction in the first place. Trauma, human suffering, major depression and anxiety, PTSD and many other mental health disorders are often at the root of the cycles of addiction/alcoholism. Whether the person is reluctant or eager to make lifestyle changes, we want each resident to realize sobriety is the only sustainable path towards a real future. It’s time to start living with purpose, instead of simply existing or surviving death.
