Retirement Gift for Fife

Donation protected
In June 2018 my Dad, aka Fife, is retiring after 40 years as a high school educator. He worked in North Dakota before moving to North Idaho where he spent the last three decades of his career at Kellogg High School teaching government and economics as well as serving as principal for a short time. Along with teaching he was a coach, a drivers ed teacher, and the senior coordinator for graduation. He has impacted thousands of students lives, helping them to get into college or go into the military and despite his best efforts to appear hardened and strict, students love my dad. They love him so much, siblings will tell younger siblings about him and his crazy classroom antics. Freshmen and sophomores constantly visit him asking him to stay just a few more years so they can have the experience of Mr. Pfeifer as a teacher. He has spent thousands of hours outside of the classroom preparing lesson plans, calling parents, and ensuring students do well, graduate, and become good people. He is dedicated and loyal and the epitome of a committed father and teacher. The decision to retire has been a difficult choice. Although he knows its time, leaving the classroom will not be easy.

To make it easier on him, I'm hoping to give my Dad the ultimate retirement gift - an all expenses paid trip to see a football game at Notre Dame. For those of you who know my Dad, Notre Dame Football is as much a part of him as his family and his students. He has a stadium picture hanging in his living room, an assortment of Fighting Irish knick-knacks around his home, and a 'Play Like a Champion' sign in his classroom. Although he saw ND play at Stanford, it has ALWAYS been his dream to see a game in South Bend at Cartier Field and I would like to make that dream a reality, to not only honor his contributions as an educator but to thank him for all he's done for my family and community.

I'd like to raise $2,500 which will cover the following: round trip airfare from Spokane to Chicago for two people, a rental car for three days to get to South Bend, accommodation for two nights, two tickets to the game, and some spending money for the ND bookstore. My first goal is to raise $750 for the tickets which will be purchased at the end of July and the rest will follow.

I'd appreciate any support in making his dream a reality, so please consider donating even if its only $5. Along with donations, please feel free to leave any comments regarding my dad's retirement, which I'll happily share with him.

Thank you in advance for your support. And as Dad would say - Go Irish!
