Restoring St. Aidan's Facade

Hello, I am Fr. Carter Smith-Stepper. Our congregation, Saint Aidans Anglican Church , has taken on the responsibility of the south Arthur Street church, a century-old building in the South Perry District. We have prioritized painting the exterior of the building this year, not only for ourselves but also for the betterment of our entire neighborhood. While we received a generous donation of paint which should cover the entirety of the exterior, we still need a few more things to complete the project: caulk, lift rentals, and some wood restoration materials. 

This building was built in 1909 and as been home to several baptist churches over the course of its life, beginning with German immigrants and most recently an African-American congregation. We were able to take possession of it a little over a year ago with some help from our denomination, to be the home for our congregation. My wife Holland and I began a prayer group in our apartment living room in summer of 2019, before being established as a church plant the following year. Since then, we have worshiped in our and others living rooms, before the opportunity to purchase this property came. We value people and place as we seek God and minister to others, and we knew from the beginning that we were committed to South Perry and East Central, not only as our home but as the home of our church as well. Our efforts to restore this historic building we see not only as for our congregation, but as a gift to our neighbors as well. As a small congregation, we do not have the funds ourselves, so we are asking for whatever you can contribute towards beautifying this historic building as a part of the efforts to improve South Perry, and contribute to the mission of God through St. Aidan's Anglican Church.
