Restore Sally's Stolen Life Savings

Donation protected
On the same weekend her husband passed away, Sally Von Stetten (our mom) was dealt a DOUBLE blow.  As her beloved husband Orion (our Dad), succumbed to complications of cancer, slimy internet scammers were emptying her bank accounts using a complex scheme. (details here)
By the day Sally lost Orion, these criminals had stolen every cent of the $87,000 Sally had worked a lifetime to save.

Posing as an "Internet Security" service, smooth-talking fraudsters spent a year gaining Sally's trust, and then violated it when she was most vulnerable, with Orion's health failing.  How? They sent a virus to access her computer data, then called with a phony story. They followed with fake webpage screens, false data, subtle threats, and, most sickening, feigned sympathy about Orion.
The bank and police authorities have  informed her that it is highly unlikely the missing funds will ever be recovered.  And there is very little chance that the scumbags who dealt her this blow will ever be caught.

Sally is a vibrant 81-year-old retiree on a small fixed income.  She had plannned to use her life savings as a safety net for unexpected medical expenses, and basic repairs to the home happily shared during their 58 years together.
We can't bring back Orion, but WE CAN REBUILD  Sally's savings and restore some peace of mind at a time of devastating personal loss.

OUR GOAL:
We're hoping to rebuild Sally's $87,000 savings by January 2019, in time for her next birthday.  What a wonderful celebration that would be!
We've been able to make a start, but we need your help to restore the rest of the safety net she worked so hard to build.

We all need the kindness of strangers from time to time.
Any amount is appreciated.  THANK YOU for your kindness!
Sincerely,
Krista and Jeff (Sally's kids)

If donations exceed the goal, additional funds will go to support education and awareness for elders in the fight against internet and phone fraud.

End Note: Often victims feel shame or guilt at having "been had" by scammers who manipulated their trust.  Never blame the victim-- give the finger to fraudsters instead!
