Restore Uncle Ray's Retirement

On 2/18, my Uncle Ray's house was burned to the ground. This is a man with a heart of gold who continued to rent his home to his niece despite numerous people advising him to cut ties because, in his words, "you don't turn your back on family." Unfortunately his generosity did not pay dividends and his house, which he purchased for $40,000 as an investment property to provide a source of income for him in his retirement,  was burned to the ground by those who he refused to turn his back on. Because he is far from being a rich man, and needed to pinch every penny, he forewent purchasing insurance on the home and is now at a complete loss, plus he will be responsible for clearing the rubble that remains. So what was once a source of income, has now become an expense. I am hopeful that I can raise some money for this man who has always meant so much to me and many others in my family. He, of course, has no idea that I am starting this on his behalf, and in all likelihood would discourage my doing so, since he is such a proud man, but I feel that I should try to do what I can...
