Restoring the Magic of Dominica

Donation protected
On the morning of September 18th, category 2 hurricane Maria was beginning to slow, gaining strength as she crept closer and closer to the beautiful Island of Dominica. By evening she made landfall and had increased to a category 3. Comms went down, power was lost and within 2 hours she was a raging category 5, devouring all in her path with a force never seen in the Island's history. Homes, businesses, landmarks and waterfront hotels crumbled to piles of lumber and concrete and the incrediblly lush rainforest of which Dominica is known for, was stripped bare. Often describled as pure magic by those lucky enough to experience its selfless culture and stunnning beauty, this country is now in complete and utter devastation. There is no power, very little shelter, and worse they are almost out of food and water.

This country is dependent on it's rich agriculture and tourism. Now both are completely gone. Maria took their rainforest, thier food, their livlihood.
A culture that spends thier lives giving anything they have to those in need has now lost everything. When Irma just missed them, they had 3 shipping containers full of food and medical supplies in case of a disaster such as this and when Irma spared them, those containers were immediately shipped off to other Islands needing help, leaving Dominica without any immediate aid. So now they desperately need our help and absolutely cannot do this without us.

MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION:
How will my donation help and where exactly will it go?

Here is the answer.
We are setting this up in 3 phases.

Phase 1: (The absolute most important phase)
GET DOMINICA OUT OF SURVIVAL MODE. One particular Dominican, Kurt Rolle is extremely dear to my heart and his incredible brother Marshall will be taking all funds raised by October 10th to a neighboring island, likely St. Lucia, to simply purchase life supplies like food,  water, blankets, medical supplies, baby supplies (formula, diaper, wipes, milk), feminine hygiene products, tarpaulins, toiletries to name a few. He will be taking photos of items being loaded up and then distributed so you know exactly where and how your money is helping.

Phase 2: THE BIGGEST IMPACT
The next phase will be clean up and shelters. For this we will go with whatever organization is making the biggest impact at that time. This we anticipate being about December depending on funding but will keep everyone posted.

Phase 3: REBUILDING THE ISLAND
In March I will head down with the remaining funds to begin the process of rebuilding. Marshall and I will connect with a lumber company and bring all we can over by boat and piece by piece we WILL rebuild this magical island that truly was... heaven on Earth.

This culture would give their last dime to help any stranger so I know we can come together to return the favor.

Dominica desperately needs your help. Please contribute and help us with"Restoring the Magic" of this amazing Island.
