Restore the Gardens @ Lakes Park

Tax deductible
Long ago, a Fort Myers family wanted their visually impaired child to be able to enjoy the gardens. What began as a Fragrance Garden blossomed over the years into a unique and lovingly-tended collection of spaces known as the Lakes Park Botanic Garden. The collection includes a Water Garden, Succulent Garden, Rose Garden, Peace Garden, Butterfly Garden, Community Garden, and our most recent project, the Children's Discovery Garden.

In the wake of Hurricane Irma, the destruction is heart-breaking to see. We MUST rebuild these gardens that have meant so much to so many. We'd like to get started as soon as possible, in order to have the Gardens presentable again for the Fort Myers, Florida 2017-2018 tourist and snowbird season.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to restore these gardens to their former glory.   "Help" can mean donations or hands and feet on the ground to remove debris and restore the gardens. Volunteer days will begin Wednesday September 20th, 8:00 am until whenever you  feel it's "quittin' time".  Contact us at [email redacted] for details. We also need funding to help with the purchase of replacement trees and plants, as well as some repairs to our propagation area.  Every little bit helps!

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION  The Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation's focus is to assist Lee County Parks & Recreation in the implementation of the Lakes Park Master Plan, which enhances the park's aesthetics, wildlife habitat and recreational amenities for the community enjoyment.
