 Prince Kūhiō Park is more than a historic park. It is a place where the history, culture, and moʻolelo of Kauaʻi come together.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Located on Kauaʻi, Prince Kūhiō Park is the birthplace of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole, one of Hawaiʻi’s most important leaders and a person whose legacy continues to impact our people today. For generations, this place has provided an opportunity for our community, visitors, families, and keiki to connect with the history and culture of our island.

<div>
 The park is owned by the Royal Order of Kamehameha, Kaumualiʻi Chapter, and cared for almost entirely by dedicated volunteers. These volunteers have given their time, energy, and resources to protect and maintain this special place—not for personal gain, but because they believe in the kuleana we have to preserve our history for the next generation.

 Unfortunately, Hurricane Lowell devastated Prince Kūhiō Park.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The storm surge and waves, reaching approximately 30 feet, pushed massive boulders, household debris, and other dangerous materials throughout the park. Areas that once welcomed families and visitors are now covered with debris and unsafe conditions. Historic walls and other cultural features were damaged, and the work required to restore them will not happen overnight.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The reality is that rebuilding this park may take several years.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 But we believe it is worth it.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Through our nonprofit organization, Na Kahu o Hoʻai, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are seeking financial assistance to begin the long process of cleaning, restoring, and rebuilding Prince Kūhiō Park.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our goal is not simply to make the park look good again. We want to restore it in a way that respects its history and cultural significance while making sure future generations can continue to learn from and experience this special place.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The work will include removing hazardous debris and large boulders, cleaning and stabilizing the property, repairing damaged historic walls, restoring cultural areas, and eventually rebuilding the spaces needed to continue educational and community programs.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 For us, this is personal.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 When we lose a place like Prince Kūhiō Park, we lose more than physical structures. We risk losing a connection to the people and stories that came before us.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Our keiki deserve to know where they come from. They deserve places where they can learn about the people who shaped Hawaiʻi, experience our culture, and understand why protecting these places matters.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Prince Kūhiō Park belongs to all of us—not because we own it, but because we have a kuleana to care for it.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We are asking our community, friends, ʻohana, visitors, and anyone who believes in preserving Hawaiʻi's history to help us take the first steps toward bringing Prince Kūhiō Park back.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Every donation, no matter the amount, will help.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as meaningful. Help us spread the word so we can reach more people who care about Hawaiʻi, our history, and the places that tell our story.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 This will be a long journey. There is a lot of work ahead, and we know restoration will take time. But with the help of our community, we believe we can rebuild—not just the walls and grounds, but a place where our children and grandchildren can continue to learn, gather, and connect with the history of Kauaʻi.
</div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
 Mahalo nui loa for standing with us and helping us protect Prince Kūhiō Park for generations to come
