Preserving my dad’s (Vernon The Boy’s) house.
Vernon The Boy built his house by hand and took him 15 years. I left my home and headed for college two years ago, the day after my father passed. This year in March when Covid shut down college I came home to an abandoned house with nothing. I am currently living in my home alone that my father left me. I’m beginning to repair my fathers house of a lifetime. My dad left me a long list of what he wanted done and I intent to do each of those. The water damage really caused a devastation to the home. When building the house it is made all from scraps and things are starting to weaken in the entire house. This is an emergency or I’m afraid one more winter and the house won’t be able to be saved. My goal is to have a metal roof, new insulation, material to redo the second story, and support the house with new beams. A metal roof and supporting the house with new beams will be the first steps to saving my home. This to all preserve his house of art along with his legacy the best way possible for the upcoming winter and future weather conditions. This house my father built means everything to me and any donation of any kind would help greatly. Personally I don’t ask for anything from anyone but any kind of donation even a dollar will go along ways for a great cause. Thank you very much for considering helping. This is a start of of one of my lifelong dreams of making my dad’s house with the best materials out there that it deserves. So much time and effort put into this house by the great Vernon The Boy. I will be providing receipts, pictures, and proof of my work. My start date will be middle August. Thank you again.
