Restore Money Lost After Wrongful Arrest

Donation protected
My name is Britt and I am raising funds for my sister, Heather. A year ago on October 19th, Heather was driving home with her son who was almost 9 at the time. When he was trying to hit and kick his younger brother Heather let him out of the car at the front of their neighborhood for him to walk home, as he needed time and space to calm down. It was a walk where he knew how to get home, and was only half a mile from their house. Someone saw him walking by himself and called the police and Heather was arrested at her house.

Heather had to spend the night in the county jail with no communication to her family during that time and no updates on what was going on. She was finally release on bail. At home however, CPS refused to let either Heather or her husband and the father (Scott) be alone with their three sons. For over two weeks an approved adult (mainly her mom and mother-in-law) had to stay at the house with the Wallace’s.

With the expenses of hiring a lawyer, bail, ongoing drug testing (she doesn’t do any drugs) and loss of income, they are now in major debt. They had to sell their house and are hoping to build on land that they had bought. Because this was a child endangerment charge, Heather lost her job as a infant/child sleep specialist which was half of the family’s income at the time. She is unable to get a job anywhere using her education degree and even has had trouble getting rental housing.

The result of the indictment was that she had to perform 65 hours of community service, attend parenting classes, and started her own business of sleep consulting, which she is excellent at! However, starting your own business takes time, expense, and building new clientele.

A news story will be written within the next month and we are hoping that it sheds lights on this horrible and indescribable indiscretion. Not only should she have never been arrested and indicted, but she should not have been coerced into pleading guilty to avoid the minimum 2 years of jail time if found guilty in trial, as she was not guilty of breaking a law!

I would love to cover her lost wages, the lawyer fees, and expenses of ongoing therapy for the family. Please consider giving whatever you can to this family that is trying to rebuild after a hellish year!
