Restore Hope for IndieMe Community

Shop American Handcrafted, a grassroots initiative founded by Jacqueline Adamany and the IndieMe Marketplace, champions the importance of supporting small, locally-made, handcrafted goods. IndieMe is an online platform that has connected artists in the USA and Canada with buyers for over 25 years. Beyond being a marketplace, we are a close-knit community, and many members have been severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. Some have lost their businesses, homes, or even everything they own.

We feel a deep responsibility to support one another during times of hardship. All donations collected will go directly to our IndieMe members who have been affected. These funds will assist with essentials such as bills, food, and replacing lost supplies, helping our members rebuild their lives and livelihoods. We are working on compiling a complete list of members in need. If you know someone who needs assistance or if you are personally in need, please reach out to us.

Here are a few stories from our community:

One gallery owner whose entire business is dedicated to Made in the USA artisan work shared, "Thank you for reaching out, Jackie. We are safe, but devastated. Our entire gallery is underwater, and 90% of our inventory is damaged. At this point, we’ll have to start from scratch."

An IndieMe artist wrote, "The hurricane hit us hard. Most of my inventory floated down the river, and I don’t know when I’ll be able to start blowing glass again."

Many of our members are located in Asheville, North Carolina. We have all seen the destruction in the news and shared on social media.

Now is the time to come together and support those who need us most. Any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.
