Restore Hope for Gaza Refugees in Egypt

Donation protected

We are Noor and Nataleen, two young women from Gaza who have endured the unimaginable. For six long months, we lived through the brutal violence of genocide in our homeland, facing death countless times. We managed to escape to Egypt, but only with the clothes on our backs, leaving behind everything—our homes, careers, and the lives we had built.

I, Noor, graduated in Journalism and Media. My family consists of 7 girls, my mother who suffers from cartilage damage - and my father who's a Doctor is currently stuck in Gaza to heal the wounds of the patients. My friend Nataleen graduated, with top honors, in Translation, and has a family of 6. Her mother suffers from ulcerative colitis.

Here in Egypt, we had to rent empty houses due to the high expenses. Without resident permits, no company will hire us. With no work permits it’s impossible to sustain ourselves. This is a reality faced by many displaced Gazans here, who are struggling daily with the same hardships.

This war has now lasted over 400 days, and for displaced Gazan families in Egypt, life is getting harder with each passing day. Support is scarce, and basic needs have become a challenge. That’s why we’ve set up this fundraising link—to bring relief not just to our families but to many other Gazan families who are displaced here in Egypt or still trapped in Gaza. Noor’s father who’s a Doctor was unable to leave and stayed in Gaza to heal the wounds of our people, and the rest of Nataleen’s family remains in Gaza. Noor's aunt, who is the sole provider for her family, is now battling cancer and is in dire need of treatment and food.

Your donation can have a profound impact. It can help provide essentials like warm clothing, mattresses, and blankets for families here as winter arrives, and support families in Gaza with food and medicine, which are now beyond reach for so many. Through your generosity, we can give these families a fighting chance to survive this nightmare and extend the comfort and hope they desperately need.

Every single contribution brings warmth, relief, and dignity to families who have lost everything. We hope you’ll join us in creating a lifeline for them—together, we can make a difference and bring light to those left in darkness.

Organizer's Note:

Dear Community of Supporters,

My name is Aleisa Myles, from Philadelphia PA, and I am honored to know Nataleen Abuharb and her dear friend Noor AbuObaid. I first met Nataleen through the We Are Not Numbers program (an international project through which emerging Palestinian writers tell their stories and advocate for their human rights). I am in awe of how these remarkable young women persist, in the face of genocide and catastrophe, to keep holding on to life for themselves and their families.

All funds will go to Nataleen's brother, Islam, who is able to receive them securely where he is living in Germany, and from there he will send the funds directly to Nataleen and Noor.

The funds will be used for:

• Winter clothing, mattresses, and blankets to help Nataleen’s family, Noor’s family, and their friends in Egypt. Most of the people who evacuated here are young women who left on their own and have no one to support them.
• Milk and diapers for infants, as well as basic necessities.
• Medical bills for Noor’s mother, who suffers from a damaged disc, and Nataleen’s mother, who has severe ulcerative colitis.
• Rent payments.
• Sending a portion of the funds to support Noor’s father, who is a doctor stuck in Gaza, and Nataleen’s family in Gaza, to help them afford food and basic necessities due to skyrocketing prices.
• Help Noor’s sisters (sewar 6 y, Sham 8 y, and Jana 14 y) to pursue school.

Thank you for your care and support.
