Restore Chester's Quality of Life!

Donation protected
I rescued Chester when he was 1 1/2 years old.  He was very ill at the time and I nursed him back to health.  He was so grateful that he's always stayed by my side - so out of character for beagles as they ALWAYS follow their nose!  He was an incredibly loving companion as I went through my divorce not too long after adopting him.  I always say, "I rescued him and he rescued me right back!"

Tribe, some of you know Chester well.  He once was trouble with a capital T!  So typical of beagles, he was incredibly curious, mischievous and so full of life!  There wasn't food that he couldn't get to, he even learned how to get into the fridge!!!  Mama finally got wise and I put baby locks on it!!!

"Special" doesn't begin to cover how amazing he is and how much he means to me!

A year ago he sustained an injury to his left leg, of which I don't know the origin.  His vet and I had hoped that with time it would heal on it's own and we could manage the pain during that time with meds.  We've tried so many pain meds which leave him with many side affects; having a difficult time getting up,  his legs giving out, shaking and rattling his teeth are the most recent.  His pain has become so unbearable that he never uses that leg and he holds it close to his body.  All of his muscles have atrophied in that leg as a result and he must be lifted in and out of bed.  He can barely make it beyond our front door to do his business, let alone enjoy our beautiful daily hikes we once took; hunting for wild berries.  All he wants to do now is hide and sleep.  This has been so painful to be witness to as his condition is such a far cry from the free spirited dog he once was.

He just saw a specialist who indicated that there's been severe nerve damage along his left shoulder.  Of which he will not recover from and he's at the point that the pain meds are no longer working.  It's breaking my heart to see him in so much pain. The only option at this point to eliminate the pain and restore his quality of life is to remove the leg.  This is a very difficult decision to make, but as his mama, I must do what's in his best interest.

Your generous gifts will go towards his vet bill, surgery and after care.  He will undergo the surgery just as soon as I've raised all the funds.   So please tribe, empower me with the ability to end his suffering as soon as possible!  If each person who checked out his GoFundMe donated at least $10, I could get him into surgery next week!  He has quite a few good years in this life, so let's put the mischievous back in Chester so that I can resume sharing stories of his antics!
