Respite From Reality Retreat
Tax deductible
Fire fighting is NO PICNIC. This year has stretched our fire fighters to extremes. They need a break.
Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria is inviting families of fire fighters to a FREE, all-expenses paid weekend of respite. It will be held at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort. The long weekend of March 6-9.
Foodbank Victoria is sending the message to their charity contacts in the Gippsland. Families who have lost property or livelihood are being invited too.
The Retreat is organised by Bayside Community Care, the charity arm of Bayside Church in Cheltenham. Accommodation, all meals and adventure activities for children will be provided.
All donations are tax-deductible. 100% of your donation will go towards the Retreat Costs.
Back Story: Bayside Church had booked the Phillip Island Adventure Resort for its own church camp. The church members agreed to turn it into a gift to those who really could use a break--a Respite from Reality. Church members who had already paid for their attendance (over $6,000) have gifted it. This kicked off our fundraising. A few church members will assist in staffing the weekend so that the guests won't have to lift a finger.
