Residential Revolution

We are a University of Evansville ChangeLab
course focused on providing tiny homes for
people experiencing homelessness in
Evansville. Our mission is to decrease the
homeless population in Evansville and provide
them with a safe and affordable place they can call home.

Our goal is to build between 6 and 9 tiny homes
on the lots owned by United Caring Services by
the summer of 2021. These homes will be
rented to Ruth’s house residents at an
affordable rate, scaled appropriately based on
individual income. This project is the first of its
kind in our area, although other successful tiny
home communities have been established
across the U.S. and around the world.
This project will be made possible through donor
contributions and grants. Our goal is to conduct
a fundraising campaign, building one home at a
time as we raise enough funds. Ideally, the
homes will be constructed by volunteers and
most of the materials will be donated by local
contractors, further reducing cost. This idea has
generated a lot of interest in the community and
we are excited to bring about this much-needed
change with the support of UCS and other local organizations.
