Resident Fund for Proctor Creek Flooding
Donation protected
Saturday night we experienced the remnants of the passing hurricane at Fairway Court Apartments on the westside in Washington Park. Residents were climbing out of windows to escape flooding that reached their knees and some their waist. Many of our residents have lost all of their belongings including clothing, mattresses, electronics, and more. While many have renters insurance, most plans did not cover the event of flooding from environmental causes. I am starting this fund to help many mothers, families, students, and others from 10 units help to have some peace of mind. Right now we have more than enough to worry about and if we can unite as a community to help each other, we can help to provide a bit more peace for those experiencing hardship. We are working to get groceries, furniture and more to residents. We have purchased blowers to help air out apartments as all vendors are booked. I appreciate you taking the time to read and remember that one small ripple can create a large impact of change for someone.
