Reshmi, 23 years, suddenly fell ill in the Summer of 2014. She was diagnosed with having an osteoarthritic condition first in her right ankle joint but not very much later discovered that the rest of her joints too, were affected. She saw many doctors who tried to help her, but was never successful. She was constantly being told that she has a rare form of arthritis.

Put on aggressive treatment plans, the medication was making her condition worse until one day she had pain spread across her body from head to toe. The pain was so severe that even laying just a finger on her brought about unbearable pain. She went through surgery for her right ankle which was the joint that was more severely affected than the other joints. But there was a risk involved. After surgery the pain on her right ankle and in each and every other joint grew ten fold. She was unable to bear weight on her right leg and had to use crutches for the next 3 years of her life. With Doctors still unable to help her and being put on strong pain killers and other medications that put her life at risk she decided to stop all treatment, disappointed with the results they had given her.

In the Summer of 2017, she realised she needed to try again as her pain was getting worse and she started to develop new symptoms. She was unable to get any form of treatment or more medical tests due to the expense. She then left it alone until one day in December of 2017 when she found herself being unable to turn on her side, get up from her chair, losing her voice, unable to coordinate her muscles and movement and unable to feel anything due to numbness which she had from head to toe. One day she couldn't walk at all, not even hop on her left leg which is how she got about for 3 years. She couldn't move her arms or legs, she didn't have any balance at all which made her vision very shaky when seated and she would fall to a side while seated. She then lost the ability to sit on her own. She lost her sight for a brief period but had vision problems whenever seated. This sudden onset of a rare, neurological disorder was triggered by the unexpected death of her father, 2 months prior.

She has been completely bed ridden for almost a year. The doctors gave her no hope and so she looked to alternative methods. These treatments have helped her regain sensation and some function. However, she lacks the funds to continue her treatment.

The campaign will be helping her to get a hospital bed, which is a necessity in her condition. The campaign will also help her continue treatment; acupuncture, physiotherapy. The funds will also be used in any day-to-day expenses and routine or sudden medical expenses that may arise; medical supplies, medical tests (i.e. MRIs, blood tests, X-rays, doctors consultations, ambulance charges).

She needs help to be able to walk again.
