SINCERELY, CARRIE AND KRICKET ORIGINAL POST 11/2018 : My sweet little girl is dying before my eyes, took her to the vet today she has pyometra which is an infection of the uterus. Antibiotics will not work alone. She was a stray that someone had left tied to a telephone pole in August 2018. I tried to take her  Animal Shelter but due to her breed she was not welcome. It was apparent that she was bred and then dumped. There was more flea then dog and most of her hair was missing , she was hungry and lonely. So I brought her to a dog wash got her a new clean collar, food and some toys. A friend helped foot the vet bill and she was checked over, cleared for heartworm, and fully vaccinated. Ive spent countless hours giving her many medicated baths, vitamins and flea treatment. She put on 10 lbs grew back a full coat and has been happy little dog since. If she doesn't get this surgery stat she will go septic and die. The vet that will do surgery wants payment half at drop-off and other half at pickup. They said around 1,600 -2,000.... it could be more I was just reaching for any amount to help her! I don't know what life she had before that day in August, but I know that she has learned what it means to sleep on the couch, go for long walks, try lots of different treats, have breakfast and dinner, go riding in the car with her ears flapping in the wind.... Most of all, she knows the human she loves will ALWAYS come back when they walk away. I was getting her trained as an ESA because she's so kind and helpful. ...Now she may not even see tomorrow. I realize that this GoFundMe is put out there at what appears to be late... but I just got this news today. I'm hoping all the good people out there can pull something together, even a buck or two adds up! I'd like to ,at least, get her to the vet with the first half because the surgery is time sensitive... I plan to have the rest put together to pick her up after, but if it comes down to worse case scenario they would keep her and we would have to part ways, it would be devistating...but not as bad as her dying slowly from septic shock:/ (although she won't know that part..she'll just think I left) So she has been just called 'Doggie' since her arrival, but she now has the name 'Kricket'. She will carry it on in memory of a dear friend of mine that took her own life 2 weeks ago. This lol dog is not ready to be an angel just yet, just yet she has more Life to Live here on Earth! She's beautiful and kind, and has so many things to explore. She's never been swimming or to the beach, camping, to a dog park, to a pic nic, thanksgiving or Christmas. Unfortunately due to the previous people that used her, did not spay her and then left her alone to develop this infection. Not to be gross but the truth is she has diarrhea and A lot of infected pus coming out of her; sometimes it pours, sometimes it trickles:(... But as a dog she insists on licking it up. I can't imagine her having THIS as her last meal, as shes lost her appetite (mine too). I'm doing everything I can for her, but getting her to a vet for surgery is the most important. Please, if anyone can help, she deserves it. Look up "pyometra" to see the severity of timing for treatment. She stopped eating and has been pooping blood clots today. The leaking of infected pus started a few hours ago. She still goes out to pee and wags her tail but she is very slow and she looks sad and in pain. *****Thank you to all that took the time to hear about this lil gal**** Bless!
